Los Angeles Ukrainian Community Commemorates 2 Years Since the Outbreak of the Full-Scale War in Ukraine
Los Angeles, CA – February 24th, 2024 marks a solemn occasion as we observe the two-year anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, launched by russian forces. In remembrance of this ongoing conflict and in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, the Los Angeles Ukrainian community, together with local politicians, leaders, and supporters, will participate in a series of commemorative events throughout the city.
Schedule of Events:
11:00 AM: The day will commence with an auto rally beginning in West Los Angeles. This symbolic procession will travel through the city, demonstrating unity and support for Ukraine. The rally will conclude in front of the City Hall in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), serving as a moving reminder of the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people.
1:00 PM: Following the auto rally, participants and supporters will gather in front of City Hall for a rally. This event will feature speeches from Ukrainian community leaders, local politicians, and activists, who will share messages of hope, resilience, and the urgent need for continued support for Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty and peace.
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: The day’s activities will culminate at the Holodomor Memorial in Grand Park, Los Angeles, with a poignant ceremony of laying down flowers and a prayer vigil. This moment of reflection will honor not only the victims of the current conflict but also those who have suffered throughout Ukraine's history. It serves as a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom and the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.

The Los Angeles Ukrainian community and its supporters call upon all individuals who stand for freedom, democracy, and human rights to join us in our events today and to continue to support the people of Ukraine in their time of need.
